HID, a global leader in trusted physical access control and identity solutions, has announced the implementation of its access control solutions at Corporativo Puerta Polanco, a AAA-class building located in Mexico City. 

The building required an upgrade in access efficiency to prevent long wait times in key areas such as elevators, turnstiles, offices, and common spaces. 

Thanks to HID’s access control solutions, the complex now operates a fully digital system that allows tenants to access various spaces using a single, secure credential stored on their smartphones.

The implemented solution combines HID Origo, a cloud-based license and digital identity management platform, with HID Mobile Access technology, enabling tenants to use a single virtual credential to access all areas of the building.

The system features multiCLASS SE readers with Bluetooth installed at all vehicle and pedestrian entry points, ensuring optimal performance of virtual credentials and providing users with a more seamless and secure experience.

In the initial phase, under the leadership of IR Systems, the security systems integrator for Corporativo Puerta Polanco, the virtual credentials hosted on the Origo platform were integrated with Johnson Controls’ C•CURE 9000 access control software.

Subsequently, this same digital credential system was linked to the VTS Lane Inc.’s application, which serves as the building’s management platform, creating a comprehensive ecosystem of secure digital identities.

“There was a strong synergy with extensive communication and collaboration to develop the solution and address any challenges that arose along the way. HID played a crucial role by providing guidance and conducting tests throughout the process to ensure the solution worked as expected,” said Alejandro Vázquez, Technical Support and Engineering Manager at IR Systems. 

The integration of HID Origo has streamlined all building management processes, including visitor registration and tenant access—both pedestrian and vehicular. As a result of this solution, wait times have been significantly reduced, enhancing the daily experience for occupants.

Norberto Sánchez Ortiz, architect and administrator of Corporativo Puerta Polanco, stated, “Nowadays, you might leave home without your wallet, but never without your phone. Thanks to the app, tenants not only carry their virtual access card but can also book meeting rooms in the Roof Garden, manage supplier area usage, and reserve parking spaces.”

Corporativo Puerta Polanco, operated by Grupo Buró, currently houses over 3,200 tenants. By implementing these advanced technologies, the building has not only increased security and convenience for its occupants but has also taken a major step toward sustainability. It earned the 2021 LEED Platinum certification, solidifying its status as a benchmark for smart buildings in the region.
